Mary Margaret (Harris) Thomas

Mary Harris Thomas of Bear, Delaware, passed away on January 22, 2025, at Christiana Care Hospital at the age of 54 with her loving family by her side. Mary was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School Class of 1988 and received a bachelor’s degree in leadership from The University of Delaware. Mary was a Program Manager at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute.

She is preceded into death by her parents Richard (Don) & Margaret Brown (Peggy) Harris. She is survived by her daughter Cara, her brother George of Annapolis, MD, sisters Debra of Dixon, MO and Barbara of Potomac, MD. She also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She enjoyed reading, spending time with family and traveling with her daughter. She was inspiration to other cancer patients during her and their time of uncertainty.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
