Mikayla P. Thornton

Mikayla P. Thornton, age 30, of Newark, Delaware, was born to Michael and Sharon Thornton. Mikayla unexpectedly passed away on September 20, 2022. Mikayla was emersed in the community selflessly giving her time to others. She dedicated a large portion of her adult life to the “Make a Wish Foundation” ensuring so many children had their dreams fulfilled. Mikayla also dedicated herself to the religious community working with the Little Sisters of the Poor. She graduated from Delaware Technical Community College earning a degree in business management.

Mikayla was blessed with a large and loving family. She was a beautiful soul that always lit up a room with her personality and smile. Mikayla was a loving mother whose absolute gift in life was being blessed with her daughter Capri. She was given new purpose with motherhood and Capri became her entire world. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Mikayla is survived by her beautiful daughter Capri; her mother and father Sharon and Michael Thornton; her brother Brendan and his wife Laura Thornton: her sister Elizabeth and her husband Michael Bruette and their son Finn; her grandmother Ann Thornton.
