Noble R. Gooden, Jr.

Noble R. Gooden, Jr., age 78, of Newark DE passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Christiana Care Medical Center.  Noble retired as a supervisor at Dupont in 1998, and his greatest joy came from taking care of his wife, kids, and grandchildren.

Noble loved spending time at the beach, boating, fishing, barbequing, and watching his favorite teams, the Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed traveling, fixing things around the house, and trying new restaurants.  Noble also found joy in family vacations, driving his wife to her favorite craft stores, going to three different grocery stores in a day, and serving as the family’s unofficial car mechanic.  He looked forward to visits from his grandchildren and always kept the kitchen stocked with their favorite things. 

Noble is survived by his wife, Marjorie Gooden, two sons, Craig Gooden (Tish) and Christopher Gooden, and daughter, Melissa Gooden.  He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Amber, Lily, Isabelle, Craig Jr., Lucas, and Colin.  He will also be missed by his sister Irene Schorah (Jim), and his two nieces, three nephews, and many cousins.
