Norma Iris (Laboy) Morales

A beloved mother and grandmother, Norma Iris Morales, age 59, of Newark, DE, has passed away after a battle with cancer on Sunday, August 3, 2025, in the home of her children, surrounded by her loved ones.

Norma was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico in 1966. She later moved to Wilmington, DE, where she finished school, becoming a high school graduate. In the year 2000, she became an early childhood assistant teacher of 9 years at Mother Hubbard Daycare, where she continued her education in childcare. Norma loved doing her hair, make-up, and dressing up. She also loved and adored being a grandma and spending time with her family.

Norma was a member of Hank and Henry’s group, The Parliament Pearls, where they would get together to talk and have movie nights. The Pearls soon became a second family to Norma. She confided in them, and they became her safe space and her happy place during her cancer journey. She loved watching movies with her group and going to the movie theater with her sons.

Norma is preceded in death by her mother, Ursula and her father, Natividad.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her husband: Rogelio; her son’s: Rogelio, Jr., Emmanuel, and Ricardo; her daughter: Jasmine; her daughters-in-law: Markesha and Christina; son-in-law: Sharif; grandchildren: Tyrieke, Emmanuel, Isaac, Myasia, Mia, Leilani, Asahd, and Maya; her brothers: Luis, Juan, Efrain, Salvador, Francisco, Felix, and Jose; and her sisters: Lucy and Evelyn.

A viewing will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 10:30-11:30 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Interment will be private at a different date.
