Pamela Carmine

Pamela Carmine, age 77, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Christiana Hospital.

Pam was born in Wilmington, DE in 1944 to Leon and Anna Elizabeth Hurst, the 7th of 10 children. Pam was a 1962 graduate of Newark High School and later attended Goldey Beacom College.

She married Robert R. Carmine in 1964 and they were inseparable for the next 57 years. Pam worked as an administrative assistant for the Dupont Company, then for Kelly Services. 

Pam enjoyed researching and documenting her family tree, trips to Rehoboth Beach and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed listening to her granddaughter sing and watching her grandson play baseball. 

She is survived by her husband, son Sean and his partner Joe, daughter Erika Leighton and her husband Joe, grandchildren Kennedy Dahl (Colin) and Campbell Leighton, brother Wayne Hurst (Sandra), two sisters Vivian Moore and Betti Bentley (Elijah), many nieces, nephews and one feisty grand-chihuahua.

Pam was predeceased by her parents and six siblings: Albany, Theda, Ramona, Faye, Brenda and Tommy.

A viewing will be held at the Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702 on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm where a funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
