Patricia Choma Obituary

On November 22, 2022 Patricia “Patty Cakes” Choma, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Born November,1942, in Bayonne, NJ, Patty moved to Delaware as a teenager where she would graduate from Conrad High, enter the workforce for Getty Oil, meet and marry the love of her life and start a beautiful family and lifelong friendships.

Always doing her best to juggle work and family, with her emphasis on family first, Patty had many jobs over the years. From secretarial work, to making donuts, to settling in and retiring from the Delaware Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance, she made everyone she met feel like family.

Pat enjoyed her LONG lunch dates with her friends, texting with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, VO, St. Patty’s Day with her kids, ANY family get together, the beach and just life in general.

Pat is survived by her four children, Aileen Huester (Charles), Kristine Dellinger, Michael Choma (Jenn), and David Choma. Eight grandchildren, Brianna, Annaleyse, Aubrey, Mya, William, Reilly, Evan and Teagan, brother Skip McCaffery, and so many dear family members and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband of what would have been 54 years, Francis Gregory Choma, her parents Alice and Leonard McCaffery and her brother Alan McCaffrey.

Patty is and always will be a beautiful soul full of laughter, love, generosity, empathy and infinite forgiveness, whose family tree rooted far beyond blood. She would want her mantra to forever live on through her loved ones that are left behind; “today is always a good day to have a good day”.
