Patricia A. (Mayberry) Stafford

Patricia A. Stafford, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in 1935, in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Mayberry and George Mayberry. Patricia devoted much of her life to nurturing and educating children. She worked as a teacher’s aide at both Our Lady of Fatima and Caravel Academy, where her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on students and staff alike.

Above all, Patricia cherished her family. She found great joy in caring for her grandchildren and had a passion for shopping and spending time with children.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, of 63 years, Clayton H. Stafford and her beloved son, Michael Stafford. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Baker (Steve), and son, Richard Stafford (Debbie). Patricia is also remembered with love by her grandchildren: Kelly, Stephen, Josh, Nick, Rebecca, and Jessie; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard Mayberry (Kathleen); and her sister, Judy McKay.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 10-11:00 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, a celebration of her life will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private at a later date.
