Robert Gulden Obituary

Robert Edward Gulden, age 82, of Naples, Florida and formerly of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on December 1, 2025 in Fort Myers, Florida.

Robert “Bob” grew up in Ewing, New Jersey. He was a member of the 1964 graduating class of Ewing High School in Ewing Township, New Jersey. He entered the Civil Air Patrol in his mid-teens and remained active until he joined the Air Force at the age of 20. He served until the age of 26 and greatly enjoyed his time with the Civil Air Patrol and the Air Force.

Bob had a long career with General Motors as a lineman, which was a job he truly enjoyed. He worked there with both his father, Edward, and his son, Michael, so it became like a family environment, especially as he made many lifelong friends there during his career.

Bob was a devout member of the Kingswood United Methodist Church in Newark, Delaware, where he served the church in many areas, including the soup kitchen, which was one of his favorites. After moving to Naples, Florida, he became a dedicated member or Christ the King Church in Naples, Florida.

Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Catherine Gulden (nee Gilligo) and his son, Robert Gulden, Jr.

He is survived by his daughters: Cynthia Mattern (Lance) of Naples, Florida, Monica Czyzewski (James) of Smyrna, Delaware, and Michelle Schnaars (Michael) of Bear, Delaware; his son: Michael Gulden (Jamie) of Brownsmills, New Jersey; and his grandchildren: Kathleen Milewski (Lee), Joshua & Emily Gulden, Danielle & Aaron Czyzewski, Havilah, Simcha & Saadia Schnaars.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware 19702, with interment taking place at 1:00 pm at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
