Robert "Bob" J. Monarski Obituary
Robert “Bob” J. Monarski, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022. Originally from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Bob was passionate about education and was devoted to his faith and his family. After entering the Air Force in 1953, he proudly served his country for 4 years, including during the Korean War. He earned degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics, with a minor in Physics from the Wisconsin State University Eau Claire (now University of Wisconsin) and settled in Ohio and later in Delaware for career opportunities with DuPont. Bob found himself on the forefront of computer technology and enjoyed a fulfilling career there for more than 36 years. In Delaware, Bob was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and raised 5 children with his wife of 53 years, Mary Lu Monarski, who died in 2011. In addition to cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Phillies, he enjoyed bowling, golf and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by four sons, and survived by daughter-in-law, Marcie, sons Paul, Tom (Joanne), Steve (Lisa), and daughter, Ann, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A Mass of Christian Burial and Interment will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
