Rodney A. Feazell, age 80, of Seaford, Delaware, passed away on September 20, 2026 at his home.

He was born in 1945 in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School in 1963. He went on to earn his associate degree from Miami Dade Junior College. Rodney served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam on the USS Outagamie County (LST1073). He was a recipient of both the Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Continuing his life of service, he worked as a law enforcement officer in Florida, serving in various roles and departments throughout his career. After his retirement from the police force, he took a job with the State of Delaware Probation and Parole.

Rodney achieved the 32nd Degree as a Free and Accepted Mason, working his way through the organization after joining the brotherhood in Newport, Delaware, though he was no longer affiliated with a lodge in his later years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 006 out of Seaford, Delaware as well as the Fraternal Order of Police.

He loved to fish and would spend every weekend fishing on the Delaware surf or going on deep sea fishing trips. He was also an expert crossword puzzle solver who loved reading. But his favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his dog, Sasha – especially when they had the opportunity to travel together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Kathryn Feazell.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol L. Feazell; his children: Shannon Vavala (William), Glenn Feazell (Mary), and Erin Wiater (Scott); his grandchildren: Alexis Walker (Brandon), Kyle Feazell, Kayla Feazell, and Ethan Wiater; his great grandchildren: Wesley and Emilia; his sisters: Lynne Tipton (Mark) and Sally Futty (Timmy); as well as many extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 10:30-11:30 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware 19702. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Interment will take place at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware following his services.
