Ruth Ann Boone, age 68, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on July 4, 2026 in Newark, Delaware, surrounded by her loved ones all the way until her last breath.

Ruth was born in 1958 to the late William and Bertha Wilson. She attended Newark High School and graduated in 1975. 

Ruth spent her mid 20’s to 30’s working as a cashier at Toys -R- Us, followed by a custodial and assistant fire chief position for the Colonial School District. She then finished her working days of 13 years at Giant as a cashier, which she loved – especially her groupies.

Ruth and her husband, Gary, loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with their Over the Hill and Abate clubs. They took many trips with family and close friends during her early years. She spent her last decade driving her husband and daughters nuts playing computer and phone games with her grandchildren. Ruth would take anyone under her wing. If she liked you, you were family.

She is preceded in death by her first husband: Richard Muggleworth, her son: Gary L. Boone, Jr., her grandson: Bruce Allen GG Mutter, III, her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 46 years: Gary Boone; her daughter: Christen Stewart (Ruth); her grandchildren: Katelin Walton, Ryan Walton, Patricia Fenimore, Tyler Fenimore, Joseph Stewart, Destiny Stewart, Taylor Boone, Jason Stepp, Jr.; her brother: Charles Wilson; her sister: Peggy Atkins; 4 great grandchildren as well as many other extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm at Beeson Funeral Home. Interment will be private at a later date.

Her family requests that, those who wish to and are able to do so, should plant a tree in her memory.
