Sabina Amberg, 74, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on September 1st, 2023. She was born in Ubrez, Czechoslovakia in 1949, and was the daughter of Juraj Svatko and Maria Salamon. She grew up in the village of Kamenica nad Cirochou. Sabina immigrated to the United States and married Alan J. Amberg, of Linden, New Jersey, in 1969.
Sabina was a nurse in Czechoslovakia and continued her profession in the United States. She was also a homemaker and later worked in fragrance, cologne, and clothing sales.
Sabina was a parishioner of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Newark, Delaware.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, making crafts, traveling, vacationing on cruises, and spending time at the beach, especially with her friends at Steamboat Landing campground in Lewes, Delaware.
In addition to her parents, Sabina was predeceased by her husband of more than 30 years, Alan J. Amberg.
She is survived by her sons Alan and Daniel, Daniel's wife Megan, her three sisters Darine, Lydia, and Vilma, and grandchildren Joshua, Conner, Jacob, and Sydney. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 10-11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 15 Gender Rd., Newark, DE 19713. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
