Shirley G Watson passed away peacefully June 17th, 2026 at her home in Kirkwood Delaware. Born December 13th, 1928 in Wilmington, Delaware, she was 97 years old.

 She is survived by her sister Evelyn Beverage of Buckeye, West Virginia; stepson William G. Robinson Sr. and his wife Merry C. Robinson of Kirkwood, Delaware; stepdaughter Deborah C. Martin of Santa Fe, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews, too many to count.

 Shirley was an Independent woman who started working at a very young age and had many adventures in her long life. She shared her life with Joanne Robinson, raising foster children, worked early on at Wilson Mayonnaise, then Delaware Luggage where she met lifelong friend Phyllis Smith. She went finally to work for Chrysler at the Newark Plant and worked on the line until her retirement after 30 years.

 She could then pursue her lifelong love for flounder fishing from her second home in Lewes, Delaware where she spent many happy hours on the Fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park.

 Shirley was a treasured friend to so many people and she loved her family dearly. She will always be missed and loved by all.

A viewing will be held at the Beeson Funeral, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702, on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00am until 11:00am, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00am.  Burial will follow in St. Georges Cemetery, St. Georges, DE
