Tammy Wayne Cassell, beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and aunt passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 64.
Born in Bristol, VA., Tammy was the daughter of Mack and Joyce Cassell. She grew up in Newark, DE., where she attended Glasgow High School.
Tammy pursued a career as both a limousine driver and school bus driver. She formed strong bonds with her clients and the children on her routes. With loving hands and a tender heart, Tammy also cared for her great niece, Shelby in her earliest years, nurturing her with kindness and providing a foundation of love that will forever be remembered.
She had a passion for “Sunday Fundays”, watching the Eagles football games with her son and partying with friends and family. Among her many relationships, the bond she shared with her son, Kyle, was particularly deep and unbreakable. He was the pride and joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent together, nurturing him with her love, and support. Their connection was a beautiful testament to the love between a mother and a son, a bond that even now will remain strong and eternal.
She shared an extraordinary bond with her granddaughter, Sophia. They spent countless moments together filled with laughter, stories, and lessons that will last a lifetime. Whether it was watching a movie, gossiping together, or simply sitting side by side, her presence was a gift of love and time.
She lived a life fueled by love—fierce, unwavering, and unconditional. Her family and friends were the heart of her world, the center of her universe. She gave her love generously, with every hug and smile.
Tammy, also known as “Fluffy” for her soft heart and warm presence, and “Telephone Tammy” for her love of sharing stories and keeping everyone connected through cherished conversations. She always had a story to tell and a kind word to offer. Whether it was catching up on the phone or spreading joy with her infectious laughter, she made everyone feel special. Though her voice may be silent now, the stories she shared and the love she gave will forever echo in our hearts. We will miss her calls, her laughter, and her love, but we will carry her spirit with us always. We love her more, more, more!
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Joyce Cassell, her sister Lisa and brother Sam.
Tammy is survived by her son: Kyle Cassell (Carrie Krause); grandchildren: Paul Krause, and Sophia Cassell; sister: Kathy; nephew: Josh Phipps; nieces: Jess and Holly; great niece: Shelby; great nephew: Jaxson Phipps; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins from Virginia.
