Victor Robert Bond, Jr., age 74, of Newark, Delaware, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Newark.
Victor graduated from Gratz Senior High School in 1965. He went on to join the United States Army, where he served his country for three years as a paratrooper. After his honorable discharge, Victor began his career working with the Federal and State Governments for over 30 years, starting at the Federal Post Office and moving to the State Liquor Control Board, and finally as and Items/Logistic Manager with the US Navy until his retirement in 2010. He also took courses at Community College, Temple University, and on-site courses to enhance and make application to his employment at the Department of the Navy. His service earned him many awards, including the Civilian Lifetime Career Achievement Award. In his free time, Victor enjoyed fishing with his son, Victor III, aka. Cheeko.
Victor is preceded in death by his parents and his youngest sister, Brenda Bond Costen.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 55 years, Marsha; his son Victor; his daughter, Janina Roth (Todd); and his granddaughter, Phoenix Williams. He also leaves to his memory two sisters, Margaret Quarterman (AJ) and Sandra Palmer (William); a brother, Tony Hart (Margaret); three sisters-in-law, Celeste Bivings (Gussie), Anita Adams, and Lorna Shreeves; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 11:30-12:30 pm at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm at Beeson Funeral Home. The committal service will take place at 2:00 pm at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
