Wendell L. Staton

Wendell Lamont Staton, age 78, of Newark, DE and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his home in Newark.

Wendell was a 1964 graduate of Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA. He entered US Air Force in 1965 and served his country until his retirement from the Air Force in 1988 at the rank of Technical Sergeant. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the Philadelphia School District as an IT Analyst until his retirement from the school district.

Wendell is proceeded in death by his ex-wife: Carol Lightfoot.

He is survived by his daughter: Nicole Staton (son: Collin) of Sicklerville, NJ; his son: Derrick Staton (daughters: Dejah and Jeyda) of Delran, NJ, and his sister: Gwen Robinson (daughter: Monica) of Willingboro, NJ.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 10-11:00 am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, DE 19702. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 am at Beeson Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
