William “Bill” Risley, age 81, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023. He was married for 59 years to Carol A. Risley (Turner).
Bill was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Bud and Ruth Risley and brother of the late Skip and Tim Risley.
He worked at the Geon Company as a chemical engineer in Pedricktown, NJ until his retirement. Bill, known also as Mr. Bill, was a member of Cornerstone Church. He was also a member of the Waterford Homeowner’s Association. He enjoyed reading, playing golf, and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all, Bill loved to spend time with his family, including his 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; son John William Risley (Tina); daughters, Suzanne Scargill (John), and Amanda Roberts (Eric); grandchildren: Rebecca, Kyle, Sarah, Edward, Johanna, Grace, Nikole, Caleb, and Aliyah; and great-grandchild, Alphonse.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 10-11:00 am at Christ the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Rd., Bear, DE 19701. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
