Andree L. Cratty

Andree L. Cratty Sr., age 72, of Millsboro, DE, son of the late Charles and Germaine Cratty of Milton, DE, passed away on Friday, May 28th surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Antwerpen, Belgium in 1937 and came to the United States when he was 12 years old.

He became a United States citizen in 1955, when he was 17 years old. A week after becoming a U.S. citizen, he joined the U.S. Navy and served until 1962 and then went on to become a Merchant Marine.

He was later employed with General Motors until he retired in 1995 from there after working 30 years.

He was an avid antique car enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, gardening and many other outdoor activities.

He is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Freda A. Cratty and 3 children, son, Andree L. Cratty Jr. and wife Sharon, daughter Kimberly A. Cratty and daughter Dawn M. Bishop and her husband Joseph and 6 grandchildren, Matt, Andy III, Joey, Billy, Erik and Jessica.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Joseph Bishop for his diligent care of their grandfather.

You are invited to attend Andree's funeral service on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11:30 at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, De 19702. Family will begin to receive guests starting at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear, DE.
